Reverse osmosis (RO) is a water purification technology that uses a semipermeable membrane to remove impurities, ions, and other contaminants from water. RO is commonly used in both industrial and residential applications to produce drinking water, and can also be used to purify water for aquariums, laboratories, and other purposes.

RO systems work by using a semipermeable membrane to separate pure water from contaminated water. The membrane has very small pores that allow water molecules to pass through, but block larger molecules, such as salts, minerals, and bacteria. As water passes through the membrane, the contaminants are left behind and flushed away. RO systems can remove up to 99% of contaminants from water, making it a very effective way to produce clean, safe drinking water.
